Trump Supporters Go Wild After Noticing the Subtle Dig POTUS Threw at Media

T

Blink and you might’ve missed President Donald Trump’s sly swipe at the media’s perceived coziness with Democrats during a press conference on Sunday.

The moment: Trump greeted reporters during a briefing to announce what his administration called a “major therapeutic breakthrough” on coronavirus treatment by telling them: “It is good to see you all. Hope you had a great weekend at your convention.”

The Democratic National Convention took place August 17 through August 20 and was praised by some members of the mainstream press as a success.

  • MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace claimed last Thursday that a Trump advisor told her Biden would win if the election continues to be a referendum on Trump’s job performance.
  • The Houston Chronicle published a Saturday editorial praising Biden’s convention speech, in which he expressed a supposedly unifying message of “hope and light and love.”
  • Jonathan Bernstein, writing for Bloomberg’s opinion section, heralded the convention as “mostly a success.”

Meanwhile, some critics on the right panned the press for its DNC coverage.

Fox News contributor Stephen Miller expressed a typical sentiment among conservatives when he referred to reporters covering the convention as “dogs on command.”

The reaction: The president’s supporters praised him for calling out the mainstream press’ purported bias.

Fox New contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy dubbed Trump the “Troll-in-Chief.”

The Daily Caller’s Twitter account suggested the president spoke only the truth.

Multiple users referred to Trump’s jibe as “savage.”

The Republican National Convention kicks off Monday and will run through Thursday.

  • The event is set to feature a star-studded lineup of conservative culture wars heroes
  • Covington Catholic high schooler Nick Sandmann and gun-toting St. Louis homeowners Mark and Patricia McCloskey are among those slated to join the president and his family on stage.
