Reporters Mocked for Mad Dash to See Fireworks Celebrating Biden Nomination: Like ‘Dogs on Command’

Reporters covering the Democratic National Convention were mocked on Thursday after footage showed them scampering toward a fireworks show to celebrate Joe Biden’s nomination as the party’s presidential candidate.

The video: Politico correspondent Natasha Korecki posted the footage from Wilmington, Delaware, where Biden had just finished his acceptance speech to conclude the four-day virtual coronation.

  • Korecki said reporters had been instructed to hurry lest they miss the event, and, “They listened.”
  • The 11-second clip quickly went viral, racking up 1 million views in less than 24 hours.

The reaction: Conservative Twitter commentators derided the journalists for rushing for the exit instead of sticking around to question Biden.

Writer Stephen Miller compared them to trained dogs.

Activist Kyle Kashuv was more explicit in articulating the common right-wing view that the elite news media takes its cues from the Democratic Party.

Blaze TV host Elijah Schaffer wrote simply, “This is journalism in 2020.”

Woof?: Conservatives have criticized as credulous press coverage throughout Biden’s campaign and during the DNC, particularly following former President Barack Obama’s speech on Wednesday.

The Republican National Convention starts on Monday.
