At least five of the Texas Democrats who last week left the state to avoid voting on an electoral reform bill have tested positive for coronavirus.

So What

Imagine the way the media would have covered the story if maskless Republican lawmakers had jumped on private jets and fled their states to subvert the will of their constituents.

What happened

The Texas House Democratic Caucus announced on Saturday that three of its members had tested positive for COVID-19. On Sunday, the caucus released a statement announcing two more members had tested positive.

Quote: “Just as these new variants sweeping the country are more aggressive than ever, the wave of anti-voter legislation in this country is worse than we’ve seen in generations. That’s why, I will continue the fight for voting rights with every single fiber of my being,” Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer, one of the Texas Democrats who tested positive, said in a statement posted to Twitter on Sunday.

Same energy

Despite claiming for months that anti-lockdown protests were dangerous amid the pandemic, liberals enthusiastically supported Black Lives Matter protests where thousands gathered in close proximity.

The kicker

This tweet from social media guru Caleb Hull pretty much sums it all up:
