WH Press Sec Asked If Biden Saw Doctor After Triple Fall – Her Response Is Making Waves

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to reveal whether President Joe Biden received medical attention after repeatedly stumbling up a staircase.

The moment: Psaki, speaking to reporters on Monday during a White House press conference, addressed the stumble Biden took on Friday while attempting to climb the stairs to Air Force One.

  • “He’s 100% fine. I don’t know if you’ve been up those steps, they’re a little tricky sometimes,” Psaki said, in response to a reporter who asked if Biden was “okay.”
  • “I’m not aware of that being required,” Psaki said after the same reporter asked if the president had seen a doctor. “There’s, of course, a doctor who travels with the president, any president of the United States, but I’m not aware of it needing actual extensive medical attention.”
  • “There’s a doctor who travels with him,” Psaki added as a clarification. “He was walking around, as you all saw, by the end of the day. So I’m just trying to be completely transparent. He’s absolutely fine as he was on Friday, was this weekend. He spent the weekend at Camp David. He’s good.”

The reaction: Psaki’s response raised eyebrows on Twitter, and for some, fueled speculation about Biden’s fitness for office.

  • “By not saying ‘no’ nor ‘yes,’ technically she is not #lying,” one commenter tweeted.
  • At 78 years old, Biden is the oldest person to assume the presidency and has been dogged by questions about his physical and mental capacities.
