A Marvel Studios executive recently said the name of the X-Men comic book superhero squad is “outdated.”
WHAT HAPPENED
After Victoria Alonso was promoted this week to president of physical, post production, VFX, and animation at Marvel Studios, a June 2019 interview with resurfaced in which she suggested the X-Men need a more inclusive monicker.
“I don’t know where the future is going. It’s funny that people call it the X-Men, there’s a lot of female superheroes in that X-Men group, so I think it’s outdated,” Alonso told Nuke the Fridge, a gaming and entertainment website.
