This Interviewer’s Facial Expression During Kamala Harris Sit-Down Says Everything About the Media

Conservatives are saying a journalist’s expression during an interview with Kamala Harris encapsulates the media’s penchant for soft-pedaling coverage of Democrat politicians.

The moment: Jane Pauley’s interview on Tuesday with the vice president-elect, which aired on Sunday’s “CBS Sunday Morning,” began with Harris expounding on how she was raised to overcome challenges.

“I was raised to not hear ‘no,’ let me be clear about it,” Harris began.

  • “So, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh, the possibilities are immense. Whatever you want to do, you can do,'” she added. “No! I was raised to understand many people will tell you, ‘It is impossible,’ but don’t listen.”
  • “I mentor a lot of people, and I tell them that there will be people who will say, ‘It’s not your turn, it’s not your time. No one like you has done it.’ And I’ll tell them, ‘And don’t you listen,'” Harris said.
  • “And then I will go on to tell them, ‘I eat ‘no’ for breakfast!'” she concluded while laughing.

The camera cut to Pauley, whose mouth was agape from laughing with what appeared to be delight.

The reaction: While liberals praised the “sweet interview,” conservatives mocked the latest instance of the media’s purported preferential treatment of Biden and Harris – especially when compared to how the press covered Trump.

Getting deep: After discussing Harris’ upbringing by her progressive scientist mother and Marxist economist father, Pauley touched briefly on the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and Donald Trump’s impeachment.

  • The second half of the interview discussed Harris’ husband, Douglas Emhoff, the country’s “first second gentleman.”
  • Pauley also asked the couple about Harris’ preferred sneakers — Converse Chuck Taylors.

There was little to no mention, however, of Joe Biden’s policy agenda.
