KHASHOGGI KILLING CASE DISMISSED

A federal judge on Tuesday threw out a lawsuit against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, following a recommendation from President Joe Biden’s administration that bin Salman should be granted legal immunity.

  • At a November 2019 Democratic primary presidential debate, then-candidate Biden said if elected president he would make Saudi Arabia “pay the price” for the killing of Khashoggi and “make them in fact the pariah that they are.”

TRUMP ORG FOUND GUILTY

A New York jury convicted the Trump Organization, former President Donald Trump’s real-estate company, on 17 counts of criminal tax fraud, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office announced Tuesday.

  • “This was a case about greed and cheating. In Manhattan, no corporation is above the law,” district attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement.
  • “For 15 years the Trump Corporation and the Trump Payroll Corporation got away with a scheme that awarded high-level executives with lavish perks and compensation while intentionally concealing the benefits from the taxing authorities to avoid paying taxes.”
