Reuters Fact Check weighed in on a video purporting to show President Biden wandering away from a speaking event at the sound of an ice cream truck.

In the Sunday article, titled “Fact Check: Video does not show Biden being distracted by music from an ice cream truck,” the wire service’s fact checkers addressed the nearly year-old viral meme, which recently resurfaced on social media.
“Biden can be seen walking out of frame and returning a few seconds later, but no ice cream truck can be seen in the video nor can any music be heard,” the Reuters team observed of the original footage of Biden’s remarks from a September 2021 appearance at a middle school in Washington, D.C.
