Outgoing White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Thursday refused to condemn “pro-choice” activists who recently “doxxed” the six conservative Supreme Court justices.
WHAT SHE SAID
Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked Psaki if the White House considers the activists “extreme” or supports their publication of the justices’ addresses and maps pinpointing their homes as part of a planned protest of the expected reversal of Roe v. Wade, the landmark abortion rights ruling.
- “Peaceful protest? No. Peaceful protest is not extreme,” Psaki replied, adding “we certainly encourage people to keep it peaceful and not resort to any level of violence.”
- “I think the president’s view is that there’s a lot of passion, a lot of fear, a lot of sadness from many, many people across this country about what they saw in that leaked document. We obviously want people’s privacy to be respected. We want people to protest peacefully if they want to, to protest.”
- Psaki also declined to condemn a leak Monday of a draft Supreme Court majority opinion that would overturn Roe.
Biden and other Democrats have used the leak to try to rally voters ahead of the November midterm elections.
MEANWHILE
Also Thursday, the White House announced that Psaki will soon be replaced by her deputy Karine Jean-Pierre, who will be the first black or openly LGBT person to hold the job.
