Officials and advocates have decried the immigrant releases, which they have said are chaotic and often leave migrants without ID, money or directions to their ultimate destinations.

Do President Biden and Vice President Harris care about communities, immigrants, and controlling the border?” said Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., in a statement.
