Many Republicans, including Donald Trump and some prominent allies, apparently believe the former president will be “reinstated” in the White House by the end of the year.
The path
Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, posted a photo to Telegram Tuesday showing himself and others posing in front of the whiteboard — earning praise from supporters and scorn from critics.
Who’s who: Per additional images on the internet, the whiteboard features Trump’s likeness at the center of a web of arrows, Bible quotes and supportive names and faces, including:
- Fox News hosts Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson,
- Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas,
- Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk,
- Sorbos’ wife, actress Sam Sorbo,
- And lawyer Lin Wood, who like Flynn and Lindell is a leading booster of conspiracy theories that Trump is still the president.
The purpose: “This is the path to Trump, the trail to Trump. … We’re trying to get connected, reach the man,” an associate of pro-Trump podcaster Clay Clark explained of the board in an April video.
- Added Clay: “We’re trying to ignite a revival, and every one of these little red sparks means we’ve talked to that person.”
