Fox News’ Laura Ingraham Has Been Not So Quietly Criticizing Trump’s Lawyers

Fox News host Laura Ingraham criticized attorneys for Donald Trump this week, as the president’s lawyers wage a sweeping legal battle seeking to overturn election results in various states where they allege widespread voter fraud took place.

The first tweet: Ingraham, who was once described in The Atlantic as the Fox News host whose “career is most closely tied to President Donald Trump,” on Wednesday tweeted out an enigmatic broadside against lawyers who “tell their clients what they want to hear, not what they need to hear,” which appeared to be a thinly veiled swipe at Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani.

The New York Times, citing “multiple people briefed on the matter,” reported on Tuesday that Giuliani had asked the Trump campaign to pay him $20,000 a day for his legal work.

“Ego and money are the big drivers,” Ingraham tweeted a day later.

Giuliani fiercely denied asking for a $20,000 per diem in a statement to The Times.

The second tweet: On Thursday, Ingraham tweeted out a CNN story which highlighted Trump legal adviser Jenna Ellis’ past criticism of the president, which included calling him an “idiot” and saying his supporters didn’t care about “facts or logic.”

“Not good,” Ingraham said in the tweet, which was “ratioed” by Trump supporters upset that the Fox News host had criticized the president’s attorney.

“I was down to watching you, Tucker, and Hannity. Now…I’m just down to Tucker and Hannity. What is happening to you?” tweeted one commenter.

In recent weeks, Trump has criticized Fox News’ coverage and accused the network of going soft while nudging his supporters toward alternatives like Newsmax and One America News.

Release the Kraken? Giuliani joined Ellis and fellow Trump legal team attorneys Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing and Sidney Powell at a press conference in Washington, D.C. on Thursday where he claimed Democrats had perpetrated “various acts of voter fraud” as part of a “centralized” plan to steal the election.

  • The former New York City mayor said the extent of the fraud uncovered will leave the Trump campaign with “more than double the number of votes needed to overturn the election.”
  • Powell, meanwhile, claimed “communist money” was used to rig the election in a scheme which involved Venezuela, George Soros, the Clinton Foundation and antifa.
