Fox News Cuts Away From White House Press Secretary as She Makes Voter Fraud Claims

Fox News on Monday cut away from a press conference held by Kayleigh McEnany as the White House press secretary accused Democrats of stealing the 2020 election from President Donald Trump.

The video: McEnany, who said she was speaking in her personal capacity, declared the election “not over,” before alleging Democrats were “welcoming fraud” and “illegal voting.”

Fox News host Neil Cavuto eventually interjected, saying, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, I just think we have to be very clear.”

  • “She’s charging that the other side is welcoming fraud and welcoming illegal voting. Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue showing you this,” Cavuto said as the network cut away from McEnany’s remarks.
  • “Maybe they do have something else to back that up but that’s an explosive charge to make, that the other side is effectively rigging and cheating,” he added.
  • “If she does have proof of that, of course, we’ll take you back.”

Fox News did not resume airing McEnany’s press conference.

POTUS fights on: Despite Joe Biden’s sizable lead in several battleground states, Trump has refused to concede and, citing alleged voting irregularities at various key polling locations, has claimed the election was “stolen” from him.

  • Trump’s lawyers have launched legal challenges in multiple states.
  • The president and his allies have accused the Democrats and the media of being unconcerned with election integrity, an attitude they claim has shaken the public’s confidence in the electoral system.
  • Many legal experts, political commentators, and even some of the president’s high-profile supporters view the voter fraud investigations and Trump’s legal challenges as long-shots to actually overturn the results of the election.

“At this stage, the fraud that we can confirm does not seem to be enough to alter the election results. We should be honest and tell you that. Of course that could change. But changing the election result is not the whole point,” Fox News host Tucker Carlson said on his program Monday night.

Meanwhile, Carlson took an apparent swipe at Cavuto, saying that in a democracy, “you can’t just cut away from coverage you don’t like.”
