FLASHBACK: Kamala Harris Reveals Her Marxist Vision of America

A viral campaign video Kamala Harris tweeted in November resurfaced ahead of her swearing-in on Wednesday as vice president.

The message: The 50-second clip features animation of a voiceover in which Harris argues for the extreme left-wing position that the government should ensure “we all end up at the same place.”

  • “There’s a big difference between equality and equity,” she says in the caption to the video, which has more than 6 million views.

“Equality suggests, oh, everyone should get the same amount,” Harris says in the video.

  • “The problem with that is not everyone is starting out from the same place. … We could get the same amount, but you’re still going to be that far back behind me.”
  • In the animation, a white person is seen summiting a mountain while a black person watches helpless from a lower starting point.

Harris goes on to instead endorse “equity,” a progressive buzzword for ensuring equality of outcome as opposed to of opportunity, especially between racial groups.

  • “It’s about giving the people the resources and the support they need, so that everyone can be on equal footing and then compete on equal footing,” she says. “Equitable treatment is we all end up at the same place.”
  • As she speaks, the ground rises up so the black person can climb up to the summit; he then watches a sunrise with the white person and the words “Biden-Harris 2020” appear in the sky.

The reaction: Some liberal Twitter users expressed support for Harris’ message at the time.

But Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Texas Republican, was among many conservatives who heard a rehash of Karl Marx’s slogan: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

  • “The false promise of the left, in 1 minute,” he said.
  • “Start out with a well-intentioned point on equality of opportunity, only to end it with the true Marxist intent: equity in outcomes. They leave out the part where equity must be enforced with unequal -and tyrannical- treatment”

“They used to call that communism,” commented journalist Andrew Sullivan.

You were warned: Trump and his allies repeatedly predicted that if elected, Harris would quickly replace her running mate, Joe Biden, as president and advance a socialist agenda.

Harris has previously spoken in favor of equity over equality on the campaign trail, and Biden has also endorsed the notion.
