Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a state of emergency yesterday over the growing number of migrants being bused in to the city from Texas and Arizona, and announced a $10 million emergency expenditure to create a new D.C. Office of Migrant Services to coordinate the ongoing response. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has said he will continue busing migrants to Washington, New York City and Chicago to highlight the mounting immigration crisis at the southern border. Read more.
