The callout: A selfie of a Norris look-alike posing with a Trump supporter at last week’s violent D.C. protest went viral on social media, and many users suggested the action hero himself was pictured.
- Some foolhardy chatterboxes pointed to Norris’ past support for President Donald Trump, firearms and other conservative causes as further evidence it could be him in the photo.
But Norris’ manager — if anyone can be said to really manage the former “Walker, Texas Ranger” star — scoffed at the rumors.
- “This is not Chuck Norris and is a wanna be look alike although Chuck is much more handsome,” he told the Daily Beast on Tuesday.
- The manager added that Norris remains home on the range, specifically “his range in Texas where he has been with his family.”
Self-defense: Norris himself later stepped forward to defend his good — some might say “great” — name on Twitter.
- Yes, Norris, 80, is a master of both cinema and violence, with a trove of box-off hits under his multiple black belts to prove it.
- But he made clear he took no part in either the photo or the riot, which led to the start of a second impeachment process against Trump for allegedly inciting an insurrection.
- “There is no room for violence of any kind in our society,” said Norris, a former U.S. Air Force policeman. “I am and always will be for Law and Order.”
Twitter users, knowing that Chuck Norris’ word is his bond, quickly accepted his denial.
- “Plus,” said one fan, “if Chuck Norris did attack the Capitol he’d be president already.”
